Where to Stay in The Peak District: The Hermitage Farm

The Peak District National Park extends across 55 square miles of land, encompassing Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and even parts of Greater Manchester.

There are stunning landscapes, lovely rural towns, cycling trails and hiking routes through the picturesque countryside. You’ll find cosy pubs, cute cafés, and some of the most beautiful villages in the country, including Bakewell, Buxton and Ashford in the Water.

With captivating views and cosy interiors, here is one of our top picks for a Peak District staycation.

We stayed in one of five cottages set on The Hermitage Farm in the Peak District. The cottage is perfect for two people, offering comfortable interiors, including a wood burner and a terrace with stunning rural views across the Peak District.

On the grounds, there is outdoor seating and a shared garden with a BBQ and a firepit. They also have an enclosed dog exercise paddock where you can let your dog off the lead, and with an abundance of footpaths and bridleways that meander through the surrounding area, you can walk for miles from the cottage itself.

The hosts were lovely and welcomed us with a basket including a personalised letter, maps of surrounding areas, coffee, tea, fruit and homemade brownies.
